Thank you for choosing FALLOW Retreats.
Everything we’ve created is designed to feel calm, simple and considered - and these terms are here to support that experience for everyone who stays with us. By making a booking, you’re entering into an agreement with FALLOW Retreats, so we ask that you read through the following.
If you have any questions at all, just email us at fallowretreats@gmail.com.
Making a booking
Your stay is confirmed once full payment has been made at the time of booking.
Bookings must be made by a guest aged 21 or over, who will act as the lead guest and be responsible for everyone in their group.
After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please check it carefully and let us know within 7 days if anything needs correcting (or sooner, if your stay is approaching).
We do retain the right to decline a booking, although this is uncommon.
If plans change
We know that life doesn’t always go to plan. If you do need to cancel, the following terms apply:
- More than 8 weeks before arrival - full refund
- 6–8 weeks before arrival - 30% retained
- 4–6 weeks before arrival - 50% retained
- Less than 4 weeks before arrival - no refund
We always recommend taking out travel insurance, just in case.
Very occasionally, we may need to cancel a booking ourselves. If that happens, you’ll receive a full refund, although we won’t have further liability beyond that.
There are also rare circumstances outside anyone’s control - such as severe weather or wider disruption - where we aren’t able to offer compensation.
Moving your stay
If you’d like to change your dates, we’ll always try to help where we can. This depends on availability and is at our discretion.
We ask that any request is made at least 4 weeks before your arrival date. After that, our cancellation terms will apply.
During your stay
Occupancy
Each stay is designed for a set number of guests. We ask that this is respected, as our spaces and facilities are carefully balanced around it.
If you’d like to have visitors, please check with us in advance.
Arrival & departure
Check-in is from 4pm, and check-out is by 10:30am.
If you can, let us know your arrival time so everything feels ready when you get here. Late departures may incur a small charge, as they impact preparation for incoming guests.
Children
Children are very welcome.
Our setting is intentionally close to nature, with open land, water, slopes and fire features. Because of this, children will need to be supervised at all times during your stay.
Fire, water & outdoor elements
A number of our stays include wood-fired hot tubs and fire pits.
These are there to be enjoyed, but we do ask that they’re used thoughtfully and in line with the guidance provided. Fires should never be left unattended, and children should be supervised at all times around heat and water.
Only the materials we provide or approve should be used. Fireworks and sky lanterns aren’t permitted anywhere on site.
Payments
All bookings are paid in full at the time of reservation via our secure system.
Caring for your space
We take a lot of care in preparing each stay, and we ask guests to treat the space with the same respect.
If anything isn’t right when you arrive, please let us know.
Before leaving, we ask that everything is left clean, tidy, and broadly as you found it - with food removed and waste disposed of using the guidance provided.
If additional cleaning is needed, a £50 fee may be applied.
Where damage goes beyond normal wear and tear, we may need to charge for repair or replacement.
Please also make sure the space is secure when you head out, as we aren’t able to take responsibility for unsecured personal belongings.
A shared environment
FALLOW is intentionally quiet and low-impact - for you, for other guests, and for the land itself.
We ask that noise is kept low in the evening, particularly after 9pm, and comes to a close by 10.30pm. Amplified music isn’t permitted.
We also ask that you move through the landscape with care:
- leave gates as you find them
- follow footpaths
- avoid crops and long grass
- and leave no trace
If these guidelines aren’t respected, we may need to bring a stay to an early close.
Smoking
All indoor spaces are strictly non-smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapes.
If this isn’t respected, a £400 charge will apply to cover deep cleaning and any redecoration required.
If you do smoke outside, please do so away from accommodation and respectfully of other guests. Please dispose of everything carefully.
Bins
Outside the hut you’ll find three bins for compost, general waste and recycling. Bin bags for general waste and compost can be found under the sink.
Compost
Inside the cabin we have provided a silver bowl and bags for compost for collecting food waste as you are cooking. Bags can be taken outside to the labelled galvanised steel bin.
- Coffee grounds, tea bags and uncooked fruit and vegetable peelings ✅
- Please do not put meat, fish, dairy products or cooked food into the compost ❌
General Waste
Please use the labelled galvanised bin provided outside the hut for general waste.
Recycling
Please use the box outside the shepherd’s hut for all dry, mixed recycling (glass, cardboard, hard plastic, paper, tins).
Log Burner Safety
Please use all fires responsibly and with care. A competent adult who is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs must always be responsible for lighting, supervising and extinguishing any fire, stove or fire pit. Once lit, fires must never be left unattended. Please make sure fires are fully extinguished before being left. Children must never be left unattended near any fire. All use of fires, stoves and outdoor cooking equipment is at your own risk.
Please only use the seasoned wood provided, wood purchased from us, or kiln-dried wood from a reputable supplier. No foraging or burning found wood, pallets or waste wood is permitted, as this can damage the stove and create excessive smoke.
If something doesn’t feel right
We want your stay to feel effortless.
If anything isn’t quite as it should be, please let us know while you’re here so we have the chance to put it right.
We always aim to represent our spaces as accurately as possible, though small details can change over time.
We reserve the right to ask guests to leave if behaviour is considered unacceptable.
Occasionally, essential maintenance may need to take place during your stay.
Your details
We collect the information needed to manage your booking, and (if you’ve opted in) to share occasional updates. Everything is handled carefully and in line with our Privacy Policy.
Liability
We don’t accept liability for injury, loss or damage unless it results from our negligence. Personal belongings remain your responsibility during your stay.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law, and any disputes will be handled through the English courts.
Agreement
By confirming your booking, you’re agreeing to these terms on behalf of everyone in your group.
