FALLOW Retreats owns and operates this website. When we say “FALLOW”, “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean FALLOW Retreats, based at The Vobster Inn, Vobster, Somerset. Our policy is to respect your privacy, and this page explains how we collect, use, share and look after your personal information.
Information we collect from you
We collect and process the following information about you:
Information you give us: details you provide when filling in forms on our site or when you correspond with us by email, phone or social media. This includes information you give when enquiring about a stay, making a booking, signing up to our mailing list, booking onto an event, or contacting us with a question or problem.
We may also keep a record of any correspondence with us, and any feedback you choose to share after a stay.
Booking information: details of your stay (dates, guests, preferences, dietary requirements, special requests) and the transaction details required to confirm and fulfil your booking. Payments are processed by our booking provider Smoobu and their integrated payment partners - we do not store your full card details on our servers.
Information we collect about you: details of your visits to our site, including traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, and the pages and resources you access.
IP addresses and technical information
We may collect information about your device, including, where available, your IP address, operating system, browser type and version, time zone, and the URLs you visit on our site. This is statistical data about our visitors’ browsing patterns and does not, on its own, identify any individual.
Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies to help it work properly and to understand how it is being used. Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies - if you do, parts of the site may not work as expected. See our cookies section below for more detail.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect in the following ways:
- To take and manage your booking, communicate with you about your stay, and provide the information and services you ask for.
- To respond to enquiries about stays, events, whole-site hire and anything else you contact us about.
- If you have opted in, to send you occasional updates about FALLOW Retreats - new stays, seasonal events and offers we think you’ll enjoy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing us.
- To run and improve our website, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing and keeping it secure.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including accounting and tax records.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share your information with
We share your information only with the trusted providers we use to run FALLOW Retreats. These currently include:
- Smoobu - our booking, calendar and guest communication system.
- Payment providers integrated with Smoobu, who process card payments securely.
- Email and hosting providers who power our website and the messages we send you.
- Analytics providers who help us understand how the site is used.
Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We may also share information where we are legally required to do so.
Where we store your personal data
Some of the providers we use may store or process your data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this is the case, we take reasonable steps to make sure your data is treated securely and in line with this policy.
All information you provide is stored on secure servers. Payment transactions are encrypted in transit. While we do our best to protect your personal data, no transmission over the internet is ever completely secure - any transmission is at your own risk.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us not to use your personal data for marketing purposes, and to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct or delete your information, subject to any legal records we are required to keep (for example, booking and accounting records).

Cookies policy
We and selected third parties may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage and similar technologies to record information when you visit and interact with our site.
- Cookies are small text files placed in your browser to remember preferences. Most browsers let you block or delete them.
- Analytics - we may use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Booking widget cookies - when you open our booking widget, our booking provider Smoobu may set cookies that are essential to the checkout working properly.
Except for essential cookies, cookies on this site will expire after 180 days. You can block, delete or disable cookies via your browser settings at any time.
Third-party sites and social media
Our site may contain links to other websites and to social media platforms (for example our Instagram). These are not controlled by us, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please read the privacy policies of any site or platform you interact with, especially before sharing personal information.
